Vandalism at the Dam

Due to numerous complaints voiced over the last several years about the lower lake level, the OMLCIA Board has been in negotiations with the DNR to return the lake to its historic level. Permission has been granted to repair the existing dam. The permitting process/design has begun. On Friday, the Association was informed that someone cut a divot in the boards at the south side of the dam. This side was close to the historic level. This action is very disturbing. More water is now flowing out of the lake. Water levels are down for this time of year. Vandalism such as this cannot be tolerated. If anyone has any information on who may be responsible for this action, please immediately notify Board President Lynn Bowen at waveman55@embarqmail.com or 260-463-7554 and LaGrange County Conservation Officer Jacob Carlile at jcarlile@dnr.in.gov.
