Greetings Volunteers! I would like to announce workshop dates for our Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring Program.

Indiana Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring “Training Workshops”
April 27th from 9 am – 12 pm (south) and May 25th from 1 pm – 4 pm (north)

The Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program will be offering an aquatic invasive plant monitoring program, “Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring.” The information gathered through this program will help maintain a record of aquatic vegetation (native and invasive) as well as provide an early warning for new invasive plants on our lakes.

We will be hosting training workshops that provide classroom and field experience needed to conduct vegetation surveys. This is a requirement to participate in the program. We have two training workshops scheduled at this time. The first will be on April 27th form 9 am – 12 pm at Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs with the field component conducted at a separate location. The second will be May 25th from 1 pm – 4 pm at the Wawasee Area Conservancy Federation Education Center, 11586 N. SR 13, Syracuse, IN. Everyone (current and new volunteers) is welcome to come and multiple volunteers per lake are encouraged.
